Each year the federal SBIR/STTR programs provide $2.6 billion in non-dilutive grant and contract funding to qualified small businesses to advance and commercialize game-changing technologies. Winning awards in these highly competitive federal programs requires strategic proposals and a thorough understanding of funding agency goals. During this 1.5-day public workshop, nationally recognized SBIR expert and consummate trainer, Lisa Kurek, program director for SBIR Impact NYC will focus on the National Institutes of Health (NIH) program. Lisa will cover program essentials including:
- Information about eligibility for the SBIR Impact NYC program and how to apply
- Current information on the SBIR/STTR programs
- How to approach each section of your proposal
- Planning your commercialization strategy
- Writing to meet the reviewers’ expectations
- Common problems and pitfalls and how to avoid them

Planning to apply for the SBIR Impact NYC Program? If so, please note that this training is MANDATORY for as many key members of your team as possible and attendance is highly encouraged for your PI.
Workshop fees will be deducted from the $500 program fee for selected companies. The application deadline for Cycle 2 is midnight October 2. Applications from companies that have not attended training will not be considered.
